Meet Sara Zaki
Founder of Organic Lab & SkinJoy
A purpose, not just a product
Every brand begins with a product. But lasting brands begin with a purpose. For Sara Zaki, the journey that would eventually lead to Organic Lab, Elixia, and SkinJoy began with a simple belief: people deserve better skincare choices. Not more products. Not louder marketing. Better choices — built on understanding, education, science, and trust.
A journey built on curiosity
Sara's professional background spans entrepreneurship, education, branding, marketing, and public relations. Throughout her career, she has remained deeply passionate about communication and learning — experiences that taught her an important lesson: people make better decisions when they have access to better information. This belief would later become one of the foundations of both Organic Lab and SkinJoy.
The beginning of Organic Lab
What started as a small venture quickly became something much more meaningful. As customers began sharing their concerns, routines, frustrations, and skincare goals, a pattern emerged. Consumers were not simply searching for products — they were searching for guidance. They wanted transparency. They wanted trustworthy information. Most importantly, they wanted solutions that genuinely worked.
Rather than viewing these conversations as customer service interactions, Sara viewed them as opportunities to learn. Every question became insight. Every concern became research. Every experience became an opportunity for improvement. This consumer-first philosophy continues to influence SkinJoy today.
"What problem are we trying to solve?"
Many brands begin by asking what product to launch next. Sara prefers this question instead. This simple shift in thinking became one of the defining principles behind SkinJoy. Instead of following trends, the focus remained on understanding people — their skin concerns, their frustrations, and the compromises they were being forced to make. Only then could meaningful solutions be created.
Building more than products
As Organic Lab expanded, so did the vision. Creating better skincare solutions required more than consumer understanding — it required stronger scientific capabilities, greater research, advanced formulation expertise, reliable manufacturing systems, and a commitment to continuous learning. This vision ultimately contributed to the development of Elixia and later SkinJoy, built together to bridge the gap between consumer needs and scientific innovation.
Skincare education for everyone
One of Sara's strongest beliefs is that skincare education should be accessible to everyone. Consumers should understand what ingredients do, why products work, how routines should be built, and how to make informed skincare decisions. This belief remains one of the driving forces behind SkinJoy's Knowledge Centre and educational initiatives — because informed consumers make better decisions, and better decisions often lead to better outcomes.
Three guiding principles
Listen carefully
Every innovation begins with understanding people. By listening to consumers, their experiences, concerns, and goals, meaningful opportunities for improvement can be identified.
Learn continuously
The skincare industry evolves constantly. Curiosity, research, and lifelong learning remain essential for creating products that stay relevant and effective.
Improve constantly
No product, process, or system is ever truly finished. Every experience creates an opportunity to refine, innovate, and deliver greater value.
Today, Sara continues to guide the vision behind Organic Lab and SkinJoy with the same principles that inspired the journey from the beginning.
Her vision extends beyond creating skincare products. It includes creating knowledge, building trust, and helping people feel more confident in their skincare choices. Because great brands are not built by products alone — they are built by the people they serve and the purpose that guides them.
And that purpose remains at the heart of SkinJoy.
